These are the $290 wedges that Kate Middleton swears by — here's how to get the look for less
The Duchess of Cambridge’s chic, polished style is one that’s emulated the world over, and she recently stepped out in pair of summer’s must-haves shoes: wedge espadrilles.
On Tuesday, Kate Middleton attended a children’s photography workshop run by the Royal Photographic Society in celebration of her recent appointment as royal patron there.
Kate’s gorgeous photographs of her family have made headlines the world over, so it’s no surprise that she’s been chosen as the next member of the royal family to take over this position from her majesty The Queen.
The 37-year old royal appeared at the celebratory event in a pair of Castañer Carina wedges and a printed sun dress by British label Ridley London.
During the event, Kate stopped to pose for photos with attendees and took part in sessions that highlight how photography provides a universal language for young people to express themselves.
This isn’t the first time that Kate stepped out in her trusted pair of wedges, which she recently wore on an outing to the Chelsea Flower Show with her husband Prince William and The Queen.
In a much more formal outfit choice, she paired her Castañer wedges with a long-sleeved maxi dress in a bold botanical print by British-Canadian designer Erdem.
The comfortable wedge heel and suede design of the Carina wedges have caught the eye of other members of the royal family as well, with Meghan Markle bringing a pair with her on her trip through the South Pacific last year.
Meghan’s more bohemian style is a stark contrast to Kate’s prim and polished outfits, yet both women are fans of the classic espadrille design. While in Australia, Meghan paired her Castañer heels with a Martin Grant striped maxi dress for a more laid-back and beachy feel.
It goes to show just how versatile these wedges are that they look equally chic whether they’re worn on the beach or in the English countryside, so it’s no wonder that the fashionable young royals can’t get enough of them.
