From bombshell blonde to wispy brunette, Sydney Sweeney's brand new chocolate cloud curls were the actor's best kept secret until yesterday. Debuting her latest locks (alongside a shocking complete body transformation), the 27-year-old looked unrecognisable as she announced her latest project, a biopic about professional boxer Christy Martin.

'Well, the cat's out of the bag thanks to some paps in bushes so here’s a little BTS from my film I'm working on right now,' the actor wrote. 'Over the past few months, I’ve been immersed in training to bring to life the story of an incredible woman—a true champion who fought battles both inside and outside the ring. Her journey is a testament to resilience, strength, and hope, and I’m honoured to step into her shoes to share her powerful story with you all.'

Aside from boasting new muscular physique, the most notable aspect of Sweeney's transformation is her new brown tresses. The actor retires her signature glossy blonde lengths for the role, instead sporting a wispy head of shoulder length curls in Martin's natural soft chocolate shade. While this isn't the first time we've seen the Euphoria star with an alternative hair colour (she had a short stint with copper hair in 2022 and wore a blunt, black wig to this year's Met Gala), this time around she looks barely recognisable.

It's important to note that a blonde-to-brunette hair transition is far from an overnight process. Any hairstylist will tell you that, similarly to how the reverse requires gradual bleaching, there are steps to achieving a realistic colour that doesn't fade too flat - or in some cases green; red pigment needs to be re-added to the strands before a darker shade can be layered above.
