Siera Bearchell is embracing every version of herself.
On Tuesday, the former Miss Canada shared an inspiring video with her Instagram followers that challenges traditional beauty standards and leans into aging.
The 30-year-old shared her results after trying out the viral "Aging" filter on TikTok. She included on-screen text admitting that she was "expecting to feel fear" after seeing herself aged, but instead, "felt joy seeing a version of myself full of so many memories."
The mom-of-two included a caption reflecting on her new perspective.
"I actually had tears in my eyes," she penned. "Women have been taught to fear aging and do everything we can to stop it."
Bearchell reiterated she was initially "scared" to try on the filter until, to her surprise, she liked what she saw.
"I truly saw a woman who watched her children grow up. A woman who was more wise. A woman who looked so happy, content and full of joy," she wrote.
In the comments, fans applauded Bearchell for challenging societal beauty standards and promoting self-acceptance.
"We need to love every version of ourselves," an Instagram user wrote alongside a heart emoji.
"Aging is beautiful," someone else chimed in.
One fan shared: "I looked so much like my late Granny! I had never really thought that I looked like her, so it was really special to see so much of her looking back at me."
"Beautiful both ways. It's so important for women to start embracing aging the same way men have the privilege of doing," another added.
Bearchell has consistently demonstrated her willingness to show vulnerability and authenticity to her Instagram followers. In April, she shared a post reflecting on the "trenches of parenthood."
"Your baby isn’t sleeping, your toddler isn’t sleeping, you can’t eat a whole piece of toast without getting up from the table multiple times, you forget who you used to be before kids," she detailed.
Bearchell compared motherhood to "raising a new version" of herself, "who sets an example that shapes the life of these little eyes that watch your every move."
"I’m working on ways to better myself mentally and physically so I can be a better version of myself for both myself and them," she wrote.
