Selma Blair has revealed she feels like she’s “breaking down” in a recent social media post.
The 47-year-old actress, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in Aug. 2018, shared a photo on Instagram of herself curled in a ball, admitting that she is struggling to cope with her illness.

“I feel sick. This is what happens. There is no bright light of glamour,” Blair captioned the post, seemingly alluding to her red carpet return at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party last year.
The “Cruel Intentions” star is seen resting her head on her knees with her eyes closed, showing off her short hair, most of which had fallen out while she underwent chemotherapy to treat her MS.
“My muscles in my face and neck are in spasm. Or so tight I can’t even find a way to stretch and I have been trying for three hours on the ground stretching,” she wrote, adding that she was sick with a stomach flu she caught from her son. “I am even more sideways now. For now. but I am not killed by it. I am strong enough not to be taken down any more than the average bear.”

Although Blair does her best to put on a brave face, the MS symptoms and flu, combined with a recent ankle sprain caused her to feel overwhelmed.
“I am lucky on a million counts. I know. And I’m still feeling alone and vulnerable and scared about the future as a single mom,” she continued. “I’m not dying anymore than anyone. I am just hurting. It feels like I am just breaking down...It’s just miserable and scary to feel unwell.”

Blair thanked her followers for being “the biggest loves,” she said she is determined to get healthy.
“I need to recover. I want to recover,” she added. “And I don’t know what that even really means.”
