With the holiday season being the ultimate reason to bring the family closer together, the 23andMe Ancestry + Traits Service kit is one unique, no-fail gift that will surely make this year memorable.
“It’s really expensive, but worth it for the results. I thought I had some Native American in my bloodline but my results surprised me and came back as something totally different. I got the health features and it’s pretty cool. It useful if you don’t know much about your family’s background or any health problems that run in your family,” says one five-star reviewer.
“I purchased this kit for Christmas, and it turns out it was the best Christmas present to myself ever,” another adds. “I was struggling with some health issues for years, and it wasn't until I got results back from this test that I actually figured out what was wrong with me (it was later confirmed by actual medical tests). I will be forever thankful.”

So how does it work?
After registering your 23andMe Ancestry kit, you begin by collecting a DNA saliva sample. You send the sample back to 23andMe for testing, and they will compare your DNA sample to over 1,500 regions and begin to map out ancestry. In a few weeks, you'll easily be able to access your results on your online profile.
“Purchased as a gift for my mother for [last] Christmas, she isn’t very tech-savvy so it’s saying something that she didn’t call to check in with me and could figure out everything on her own no problem. She also loved the results, there were so many things for her to look through and they keep rolling in even months later as they discover new results,” says another five-star reviewer.
