Over the weekend, Victoria’s Secret model Shanina Shaik posted some sexy swimsuit shots on Instagram.
Clad in a red one-piece bathing suit the 25-year-old model looked stunning – but that’s not what got people talking.

Nope, it was the “triangle-shaped hole” on her thigh in this picture.

Reactions have been mixed, with many commenters calling out Shaik for promoting an unhealthy body image, either by altering the photo or simply by being too thin, which they say caused her leg to jut out.
But others were quick to jump to the model’s defense.
“All legs do that. Well most. Mine has ‘filled in’ since I’ve gotten older!” wrote one user.
“Her legs are fine. It’s called definition from being athletic. Get a grip,” added another.

Some commenters were also quick to point out the skinny shaming going on in the comments.
“Why do people call it bullying if you call a fat person ‘fat?’ But if someone calls a healthy person skinny or worse words it not bullying…,” wrote Instagram user petra_model. “I am tired of peeps bashing us who work on our image and take care of our bodies and are beautiful… Beauty comes in many forms but don’t hate because your own insecurity.”
