Montreal Canadiens star Jake Evans and Emily Flat tie the knot in 'stunning wedding': 'You guys are magic!'
The Toronto-born NHLer, 28, proposed to his now-wife last summer during a romantic lakeside picnic.
Jake Evans and Emily Flat are officially married! On Wednesday, photographer Anouska Proetta Brandon took to Instagram to share a sneak peek of the Montreal Canadiens forward's wedding, which took place at Luttrellstown Castle Resort in Dublin, Ireland. In the video, set to Natalie Cole's hit love song, "This Will Be," the newly-wedded couple can be seen walking together, embracing one another and sharing intimate kisses after their ceremony in the black-and-white video.
For their wedding, Evans looked sharp in a classic tuxedo with a boutonniere on his chest. Meanwhile, Flat stunned wearing an off-the-shoulder wedding dress that featured a large, dramatic train. She accessorized with a short veil, along with a pearl necklace and matching earrings, and let her wavy hair flow beautifully down her shoulders.
"Huge congratulations to [Flat] and [Evans] on their absolutely stunning wedding today. Such an honour to shoot video for them," Proetta Brandon began in her post, alongside a white heart emoji. "I loved the footage so much I had to quickly put something together for them while I sat down for dinner, it just makes my heart melt! I cannot wait to go through all the footage. A day filled with love and laughter."
Fans shared their amazement over the glamorous wedding in the comments section of the post.
"Beautiful!" one person shared, along with a heart-eye emoji.
"Breathtaking," another person added.
"Absolutely stunning," one person noted.
"🥹🥹," Flat commented, to which Proetta Brandon replied saying, "You guys are magic!"
The duo got engaged this time last summer, after Evans set up a romantic lakeside proposal at the cottage of one of Flat's friends. In photos from the occasion posted on Instagram, Evans can be seen getting down on one knee and opening a ring box, where Flat is holding a white flower. After, the couple was photograped sharing a sweet kiss and embrace.
"Yes to forever with you," Flat captioned that post on June 18, 2023, alongside a white heart emoji.
Speaking to the Montreal Canadiens, Flat said that Evans "blew all my dreams out of the park" with the proposal.
"It was crazy. He got all my best friends and family members involved. He asked my parents for permission and surprised me at my friend's cottage at a beautiful lookout point. He did a good job," Flat noted, adding he even FaceTimed her mom beforehand and asked her if his setup — which included pillows, champagne and candles — looked fine.
"We had a beautiful private moment with a nice backdrop and scenery, super romantic. Afterwards, ... we walked down, and all our best friends and siblings were there waiting to pop champagne, have dinner and party with us."
