All eyes were on Prince Harry and his newly-announced fiancée, Meghan Markle, this morning as they posed for their official engagement photos at Kensington Palace.

Although 36-year-old Markle is American, she’s lived in Canada for the past several years while working on “Suits,” and has reportedly just sold her Toronto home. The couple also met at last year’s Invictus Games in Toronto, and made their first public appearance at this year’s games in the same city — so it’s clear that Toronto holds a place in the couple’s heart.
So much so that Markle chose a Canadian brand to wear for the iconic day.
She kept warm in a winter white wrap coat from Toronto-based Line the Label, a brand that describes itself as “”effortless, understated and thoughtful.” The coat comes in two colours, a white and a pale pink — and by noon Monday, the white had already sold out. In true Kate Middleton fashion — Line’s website also crashed after people caught wind of the design.
It’s not the future royal’s first time wearing Line — she wore a trench coat from the label at the closing ceremony for the 2017 Invictus Games in October.

Markle paired the timeless jacket with a green pleated dress by Italian designer P.A.R.O.S.H and strappy nude heels from Aquazzura.
It’s not the first time royals (or soon to be royals!) have worn a Canadian designer — the Duchess of Cambridge stepped out in a Sentaler wrap coat last year on the royals’ tour of Canada, quickly causing it to sell out. Kate is also a big fan of Smythe, another Toronto-based brand known for their blazers and jackets.
Congratulations, Harry and Meghan!
