Mariah Carey is being fat-shamed over this Instagram photo

Mariah Carey, 47, posted a photo of her and boyfriend Bryan Tanaka, 34, enjoying a romantic meal together on Tuesday night. Tanaka lovingly kisses his girlfriend’s cheek and places his hands around her waist as Carey beams into the camera.

“After the show it’s the after party @mastrosofficial,” Carey captioned the snap. The photo is everything it should be — sweet, innocent and playful, yet a few internet trolls decided to concentrate on Carey’s weight.

“Big woman,” one person commented, next to a pig emoji. “Mariah, you need to lose some weight cause you’re starting to look like a whale,” another troll rudely quipped.

“Fat cow,” wrote another user with only one Instagram follower.

Some even took a few digs at the age difference between Carey and her on-again, off-again boyfriend.

“Somebody come get their aunt,” quipped one user. “Eww he’s way too young for you. Doubt this will last,” said another.

Thankfully, Carey’s fans came to the singer’s defense.

“You know she has feelings too,” wrote one impassioned fan. “Just because she’s a public figure, what gives you the right to call her names? Are you a twig? Would you like it if you posted a pic and people criticized all of your flaws? Are you picture perfect? I highly doubt any of you cruel people are perfect so shut up and sit down and be nice to people.”

“Leave Mariah alone,” wrote another fan, slightly reminiscent of Chris Croker’s “Leave Britney Alone” plea. “If they’re happy together that’s all that matters. And btw, Mariah can say and do what she wants! GET LOST HATERS..!”

This isn’t the first time Carey’s fans have come to her defense. The singer caused waves earlier this year after sharing a sexy snap at the gym donning fishnets and heels while working the Stairmaster. Some critics said the sexy snap was “too much,” but Carey’s fans responded that it’s a “beautiful outfit” and described Carey’s body as “goals.”

“She is everything I aspire to be, to be honest,” wrote one captivated fan.

And Carey wasn’t afraid to show off her long legs in a figure hugging leather minidress and matching motorcycle jacket on date night with her beau back in March.

Fishnets, leather jacket or little black dress — Carey looks fantastic in whatever she wears.
