Never one to shy away from a bold fashion statement, Laura Dern’s latest red carpet look is another win with fans.

For her appearance at the 2021 Golden Globe Awards, the 54-year-old Academy Award-winner turned heads in a sleek black tuxedo that people think may be a nod to one of her “Big Little Lies” co-stars.

To present at Sunday night’s awards show, Dern paired a menswear-inspired Givenchy suit with a fitted bustier that featured a bold choker neckline, along with a pair of edgy spiked heels.

For those thinking the outfit looks familiar, back in 1993 Nicole Kidman attended the Golden Globe Awards alongside then-husband Tom Cruise, where she rocked a similar black pantsuit with a wide choker and a beret.

Whether the outfit inspiration was intentional or not, fans on Twitter were quick to praise the 54-year-old’s red carpet style, as well as her poise while handling an uncomfortable on-screen technical difficulty.

"Laura Dern looks stunning on the Golden Globes red carpet," shared one Twitter user, while another called her take on classic suiting "flawless."

“The devil works hard but LAURA DERN — DIGITAL CRISIS MANAGER works harder,” wrote one Twitter user after a communications glitch resulted in Daniel Kaluuya giving his acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actor without audio.

The moment was quickly recovered, proving once again that Laura Dern is everyone's favourite hardworking Hollywood starlet.
