Kristin Cavallari opens up about Bufo experience: 'It was a spiritual detox'
The 36-year-old "Laguna Beach" star appeared on Kaitlyn Bristowe's "Off The Vine" podcast.
Kristin Cavallari is getting candid about her experience with Bufo therapy, motherhood and dating after divorce.
On Tuesday, the former "Laguna Beach" star made an appearance on the latest episode of Kaitlyn Bristowe's podcast, "Off The Vine," where she gave fans "the tea" about getting in touch with her spiritual side through Bufo alvarius toad therapy.
Bufo alvarius toad venom contains 5-MeO-DMT, a component that according to Forbes has "shown to produce sustained enhancement of satisfaction with life, and easing of anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder," in humans.
"I've never talked about this publicly," she told Bristowe before explaining that she and her friend, Justin Anderson, visited Mexico for a "spiritual detox."
"We met with this shaman and you had the option to do Bufo or ayahuasca," the 36-year-old said, revealing she opted for Bufo because it "lasts 20 minutes" and it's like "you're on a rocket ship."
"I have never been so f——d up in my entire life," Cavallari shared. "In a good way. I want to do it again because now I understand it. I was literally on a different planet."
She detailed that her limbs felt "tingly" before she suddenly started weeping. When she completed the process, the shaman told her that the tingling she felt was "emotion trying to leave the body."
The mom-of-three said now, she feels "so light and free."
The "Very Cavallari" star also discussed her recent dating life and why she hasn't commented much on it since filing for divorce from Jay Cutler in 2020.
"I've sort of just been like, 'until I'm in a serious relationship, what's the point?' Because I'm dating, which could mean I'm talking to a couple of people or maybe I'm not talking to anybody," Cavallari said. "But I'm not in a serious relationship and I haven't been for almost three years."
"I've actually really loved it. I'm so happy and content on my own, and I have a very specific list that I want in a man and I'm not gonna settle," she added, explaining that being a mom has been more than enough to keep her fulfilled.
"I have three little kids. I get love and affection from my babies," the reality star said. "My cup is full."
Cavallari also touched on her time filming "Laguna Beach" and how it has felt to rewatch the series recently.
"It's been therapeutic, it's been fun, it's been emotional, it's been all of the things, and I have loved every second," she told Bristowe. "There's a lot of sh— I'm not proud of."
She pointed out that there are some parts of the show that would "never fly today."
