Kerry Washington is enjoying every last bit of summer.
In a recent Instagram snap, the former “Scandal” star lounged atop a colourful butterfly pool float while soaking up the sun. In the post, she credited the original butterfly queen, Mariah Carey, as the inspiration for the photo.
“#MondayMotivation = Mariah Carey….duh,” Washington captioned the image.
The shoutout caught the attention of the Grammy-winning singer, who took to the comments to show Washington some love.
“#EveningMotivation (night owl) = binge watching Scandal as Olivia Pope wears the white hat and rules the world. *Willing it into existence* LOVE YOU!” Carey wrote.
The look received support from Washington’s fans, who praised the 43-year-old butterfly beauty for her laid-back summer vibe.
“Looking amazing as per usual,” wrote one follower. “Relaxed looks good on you, ma!”
“Giving Black Butterfly a whole new (gorgeous) meaning,” wrote another.
Washington opted for the bohemian-inspired Costa Print Bikini by Tory Burch for the laid-back photo. The “Little Fires Everywhere” actress, who has been a public proponent of reframing the narrative of Black hair as “unprofessional”, embraced her naturally, bouncy, beautiful curls for a day of poolside rest and relaxation.
