Influencer Kenzie Brenna calls a changing body 'a good body' in new Instagram post
The Canadian influencer reminded followers that you’re a “squishy little human,” and not a “doll.”
Kenzie Brenna is reminding followers of the beauty of our ever-growing and changing bodies.
Earlier this week, the Vancouver-based influencer shared an Instagram reel highlighting the truth of what happens to our bodies as we get older. The reel included past photos of Brenna from when she was a child, in her teens, and growing into her early adolescent years.
The 33-year-old addressed how our changing bodies aren’t bad, reminding followers that it’s okay to not look the same as you did before.
"Sometimes I think we want to be dolls. Forever young. Forever in the same body. Forever kept. But we’re not. We’re these fluid squishy little humans that have cracks and crevices," she penned in the caption.
"A changing body is a good body. It’s OK if you don’t look the same as you did 10 years ago, 5 years ago or even last year. Life changes us. Stress changes us. Pregnancy changes us. Parenthood changes us.”
In the comments, Brenna's followers praised her for bravely speaking on the topic.
“A changing body is an ALIVE body! I love this. Love all the body love content you post here Kenzie,” said Confidence Coach, Cilia Antoniou.
“Thank you for representing a body similar to mine,” another person shared.
“Yes! Absolutely. You are so right. So grateful for our wonderful bodies,” a third said.
“I’m thankful you decided to share glimpses of that journey… Keep being awesome! I’m excited to see what changes await you next!” a fourth added.
Brenna has previously opened up about her body, revealing her own past struggles with body image.
In January, she posted a photo of herself in a black bodycon dress, along with the caption, "It’s so okay if your tummy sticks out." In a second photo, she added that you don’t need a “flat stomach” or “the perfect curves” to be beautiful.
“Growing up, it was all about the '90s Victoria’s Secret look. Big boobs and small everything else,” said Brenna. “I have never had that body.”
She continued on to share that while she "wished for it," "worked for it," and even "starved" herself, she has grown to accept and celebrate her body as it is.
“I’m finally celebrating the body that I do have," she wrote. "Wearing bodycon dresses because there isn’t a body type limit to these things. It’s ALL made up. Celebrate whatever tummy and shape you have.”
