After nearly three decades in the spotlight, singer and songwriter Kelly Rowland has learned a few beauty tricks.
In a recent interview with Glamour, the 40-year-old star spilled her best-kept beauty secrets while also reflecting on just how much the industry has changed since she started out.
"Things were so different in the ’90s,” Rowland shared. “The lighting was different, the makeup was different, the artists and hairstyles were different... I've had these conversations with different models and other artists, how photographers would be intimidating because they knew what they were talking about and their lighting was great. And I'm like, I don't [look great]."
These days, Rowland knows exactly what works for her, particularly when it comes to skincare. The former Destiny's Child member admitted to being a "product junkie" just like her mom before her, and let fans in on one of her beauty must-haves: the NuFace Trinity Facial Toning Device.

"The NuFace, the one that sends little shock waves, is amazing," Rowland raved.
She joins stars like Jennifer Aniston (who once called microcurrent facials a “mini workout for your face”), Miranda Kerr, and Jessica Alba among the device's famous fans.
What is it?
The NuFace Trinity Facial Toning Device is an award-winning skincare tool that received the 2020 Best of Beauty Award for Best Skin Device from Allure magazine, so you know that it’s approved by beauty editors and celebrities alike.
It uses microcurrents to mimic the body’s natural electrical currents and goes beyond the surface of the skin to tone facial muscles while improving contour, skin tone and reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
The anti-aging tool promises a "facial workout" that will lift and tighten your jawline, cheekbones and other visible signs of aging.
What people are saying
The NuFace device has become a hit among celebrities as well as shoppers, earning a 4-star rating from more than 250 customer reviews on the Nordstrom site. Shoppers have been impressed by the device’s ease of use, though they noted that it does take time and commitment to a daily routine in order to achieve the best results.
"I just started using this about two weeks ago," explains one shopper. "I noticed an immediate reduction in my fine lines, but this is something you have to keep up with nearly every night to truly see a difference."
“I purchased the NuFace Trinity device and it does work and lifts your face for several hours... It worked well on my jawline, laugh lines, cheek area and eyebrows. It was actually amazing to me that such a product does what it says it does,” shared another.
As the NuFace Trinity is an anti-aging device, users with visibly aging skin will see the most significant improvements. For skincare aficionados under the age of 30, don't expect to see a massive difference; a healthy dose of sunscreen is still your best weapon against premature wrinkles.
"It might be psychological, but I used it at night and could swear when I woke up that my face was fuller," writes one shopper. "I really like the cooling and soothing sensation. And the gel is very hydrating."
Verdict
While the NuFace device is certainly a splurge (it rings in at $422 in Canada and $339 in the U.S.), shoppers say that it does live up to its claims of lifting and sculpting the face. If you do plan to invest in this award-winning beauty tool, don't expect to see results right away either — the key to getting the most out of this tool is consistency.
