The Duchess of Cambridge's favourite blazer is getting a makeover
The Smythe “Duchess” one-button blazer has been a major staple for Kate Middleton over the years — so much so that she has it in two different colours: green and blue. Kate was first spotted rocking the blue blazer back in 2011 during the Duke and Duchess’s North American royal visit.
“We believe she was making a diplomatic effort to wear a Canadian designer, and our navy tailored blazer fit the bill,” Andrea Lenczner and Christie Smythe, the designers behind the Smythe blazer told Vogue in an interview. “And yes, every time she appears in the blazer, we see a surge in demand.”
The Duchess was later seen donning the blue blazer at the 2012 Summer Olympics, then while attending a SportsAid workshop at the Olympic Park in London, and again at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The 35-year-old royal also has the jacket in army green, which she broke out in 2016 while visiting Haida Gwaii, B.C., as part of her royal tour of Canada.
Now, Smythe is “rethinking pink” for October.
The brand will show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month by creating a limited-edition pink version of the Duchess blazer as part of their pre-Spring 2018 collection.

Partnering with Rethink Breast Cancer, $50 from the sale of every “pink Duchess” will be donated to the organization. The pink Duchess blazer retails for $595 CAD and will be available for purchase on Smythe’s website in October.
No word on whether Kate will pick up her staple blazer in a third colour — but we think the sweet hue would look great on her. Do you agree?
