Kate Middleton Undertakes First Royal Engagement Since Sharing That She Is Cancer-Free
Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, made a surprise appearance while accompanying her husband, Prince William, to an official royal engagement on Thursday. The future King and his wife spent time with the families of those tragically killed in the Southport knife attack back in July.
Heartbreakingly, Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine, lost their lives and 10 others were injured when an attacker invaded a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in the seaside town.
Axel Rudakubana has since been charged with three counts of murder and multiple counts of attempted murder.

It is reported that the Princess (sometimes referred to as 'The Children's Princess' owing to her work focussed on the early years) wanted to join Prince William in order to show her 'support, empathy and compassion to the local community'.
It's the first time that Kate has undertaken a public engagement since sharing an update with the public regarding her health; last month, the royals posted a video of the Prince and Princess along with their children, and Kate revealed that she is cancer-free but still has both good and bad days.
'As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,' the mother of three said in the video. 'The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.'
As well as speaking with Bebe, Elsie and Alice's loved ones, the royal couple met with members of the emergency services who attended the scene that day.
It's said that the Prince and Princess of Wales have made a donation through their charity to a fundraiser that offers physical and psychological support for police and ambulance staff who were involved in the Southport attack, and the riots that subsequently followed.
Prior to her appearance in Southport, the Princess was last seen in public at the Wimbledon tennis championship – at which she presented Carlos Alcaraz with a trophy and where she received a standing ovation from the crowd.
