Kaitlyn Bristowe opens up about anxiety: 'What you haven’t seen'
Kaitlyn Bristowe wants to be "more real" on social media.
On Thursday, the Canadian television personality took to Instagram to share a makeup-free selfie alongside a candid message about her mental health and anxiety.
The 37-year-old revealed that she wanted to share what fans "haven't seen on [her] feed lately," inspired by lifestyle influencer Bailey Stanworth and her recent conversation with actress Jodie Sweetin.
In the caption, the "Bachelor and "Bachelorette" alum said she "wanted to show up a little more real on here for a minute" and explained that her "feelings of anxiety have been creeping in for the last week" about body image and therapy.
The reality star also shared that she's been experiencing "brain spotting" and has been taking "countless medications" to feel like she's "on the right path." Moreover, she told fans that she's "not exercising" because she doesn't "have the energy" and is "questioning what's next" for her because she needs "to feel like there's something in the works."
Additionally, the podcast host is making time for herself by "binge watching 'White Lotus,'" "doing energy healing," "purging [her] closet," "journaling," "plucking chin hairs," "soaking in Christmas's spirit," and "crying whole holding [her] dogs" because she loves them so much.
In the comments, fans told Bristowe that she's "doing great" and thanked her "for being real" on social media.
"Love you. You’re doing great and you have lots of love and support whenever you’re not doing great," said Canadian influencer Sarah Nicole Landry.
"The realest list. So excited for the updates. Sending all the good vibes," commented a follower.
"Here for the commitment to personal growth," shared someone else.
"Anxiety is a flow of ups and downs and that’s OK. Be where you need to be. Thank you for being real and speaking about this," added another.
"So refreshing to see this. You're doing great and keep being so real. Nice to see public figures like you being open about real human things and emotions," wrote a fan.
Bristowe isn't the only television star who's opened up about therapy and their mental health.
Earlier this year, Jana Kramer got real about prioritizing her emotional wellbeing in a candid Instagram post.
"Felt so good to be back at therapy today. Focusing and working on mental health is just as important as physical and I’m so grateful to have a sacred place within the Refuge Center for Counselling...," she began in the caption.
Like Bristowe, the mother-of-two has also been focusing on inner healing — which she marked with a new tattoo.
"This leads me to my new tattoo. I got the ampersand on my wrist. The symbol for me is my symbol for the healing work I’ve done and continue to do. You can be happy and hurt/struggle. It’s holding space for both. It’s saying this is hard and it’s going to be OK," Kramer said.
