Jamie Otis tells followers to 'hush yo' mouth' in powerful self-love message
Jamie Otis penned an inspiring and transparent message about body confidence and self-love — no matter what you look like.
The 35-year-old "Bachelor" star took to Instagram on Saturday to share a video of her dancing in a kiddie pool in a white and black bikini, which she paired with an empowering note about body positivity.
In the clip, Otis splashed and grooved while the words, "I'm too fat," "is my cellulite showing?" "I have stretch marks" and "my body is different after having babies" appeared on the screen.
"I'm not one to go around telling people what to do (omg, people who do that are so annoying) but if you tell yourself you're too fat, too old, too ugly — or anything like that — listen to me now, outta all the love in my heart, hush yo' mouth!" she began in the caption.
The "Married at First Sight" star explained that your body doesn't reflect who you are as a person, and concluded the post with a powerful reminder to let go of negative thoughts surrounding our bodies.
"Even if you are fatter than you used to be. Even if you haven't lost the baby weight yet. Even if your boobs sag to your belly button. Even if your thighs are covered in cellulite. Even if your body jiggles a lil when you walk," she wrote. "None of this reflects your beauty, your smarts, your personality...us ladies have a whole lot more to offer the world than the size and shape of our bodies!"
Fans loved the transparent post and praised Otis for her empowering message.
"Thank you. I needed to hear that today. You’re a beautiful mom!" shared a follower.
"I wore my string bikini in my pool today showed off my 51-year-old pre-menopause belly and it felt so freeing!" wrote another.
"I love your ability to be vulnerable yet respect and love yourself so much that you give zero craps about anyone else’s opinion," commented someone else. "We are in a world of filters and it seems everything is doctored up because the pressure to be perfect is everywhere. Keep preaching! We need this!"
