Jamie Otis shares heartfelt birthday tribute to husband Doug Hehner: 'I feel so blessed'
The reality star also marked Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day, thanking her husband for his support.
Jamie Otis is wishing her beau a happy birthday.
On Sunday, the "Married At First Sight" alum took to Instagram with a birthday tribute to her husband, Doug Hehner. The heartfelt post featured a carousel of photos chronicling their journey, from their wedding day to welcoming their two children, six-year-old daughter Henley and three-year-old son Hendrix.
In the caption, Jamie poured her heart out, writing, "Since day one at the altar when we said 'I do' as complete strangers, you've stood by my side through thick and thin."
She also gave a nod to their shared experiences, including the challenges of parenthood. "We lost our first born son together and you were by my side through it all," she penned.
Also marking Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day, she acknowledged their shared grief, "I wake up every year thinking of our sweet boy, Johnathan, who we never got to bring home. My heart still breaks."
She continued: "You are always so gentle and caring with me — even if it's been years since we've lost him. You never rush me to 'get over it' or 'move on.'
"I feel so blessed that out of all the men I could've been paired with, Dod gave me you," Otis concluded. "I hope you have the most beautiful, peaceful bday and this year is one of your best years yet! You deserve all the happiness and love," she wished her husband.
"Love you and thank you! You make me incredibly happy everyday," Hehner replied to the post in the comments. "And you are with us everyday, Johnathan, and always will be!"
Fans met Otis' post with applause for raising awareness about Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day, and birthday wishes for Hehner.
"Happy birthday Doug! And a beautiful tribute to your first," someone shared.
"Well done beautiful family, you deserve all the happiness," a fan wrote.
"Thank you for speaking up about pregnancy loss awareness. And happy birthday, Doug!," another commented.
Last month, Hehner shared an Instagram reel reflecting on his journey to overcome addiction in which he credited Otis for saving his life.
Alongside a clip speaking on his podcast "Hot Marriage Cool Parents," Hehner wrote: "I was scared to admit that I was an addict, I wanted to forget that part of me. Leave it in the past and never look back."
He went on to express how Otis played a pivotal role in his recovery.
"I've learned so many things from my wife, but nothing more life-changing than her showing me that there is power and strength in sharing and admitting your 'flaws,'" he shared.
"Jamie showed me that I didn't have to stay bottled up, put on a strong front and act like everything is OK. Without her support and example, I would not feel as free as I do today."
"My wife showed me how to be my best self, and what it is to be true to yourself. I will never be able to thank you enough," he continued, adding, "Sometimes you don't realize how strong you are until you have someone stronger than you offering their unwavering support and encouragement to be your best self."
