Is Cider legit? I just bought a ton of plus-size clothing from Cider on sale for Black Friday — here's my honest review

Keeping up with fashion trends is a hobby of mine, but living in a plus-size body means I don’t always get to try out the latest styles. I’m often inspired by retro aesthetics and love playing with different shapes, patterns, and colours in my day-to-day wardrobe. As a size 16-18, it’s almost impossible to find funky and stylish retailers whose sizes extend to ones I can wear (and beyond!). In an effort to stock my closet with styles that represent my eclectic taste, I stumbled upon Cider.

I've been wanting to order from Cider for years, but I find online shopping daunting when it can be tricky to find my size. I not only wanted to see if Cider is plus-size friendly for me but for any of my fellow plus-size folks out there who were hesitant to click "add to cart." Knit Round Neckline Dog Contrasting Binding Vest Curve & Plus

I wore this vest to a coffee shop recently and four separate people stopped me to compliment it. It's absolutely adorable, extremely soft and it's comfortable. As a dog lover, I'm obsessed with the design, and as someone who has sensitive skin, the silky smooth viscose fabric is a dream. Based on customer reviews, I opted for a 0X in this vest instead of the size chart’s recommendation of 2X, and it fits perfectly.

Cotton-blend Mid-Rise Check Layered Maxi Skirt Curve & Plus

Gingham has been everywhere this season and this skirt is such a fun way to incorporate the print. The warm colours and tiered detail give this dress a folky flare while being incredibly comfortable and light. I've been trying to be more conscious of the fabric content of the clothes I buy, so I was happy to see that this skirt is made up of 76 per cent recycled polyester. A fit tip: Though the skirt is listed as a maxi, it's more of a midi length on my 5'5 frame.

Jersey Round Neckline Cherry Graphic Contrasting Binding Vest

This vest is what drew me to Cider in the first place and I’m so glad I bought it. This item wasn’t offered in a plus size and ended up being the only piece I ordered in a straight size XL. If I could sum up my personal style in one article of clothing, it would be this vest. It's giving retro tennis wear and the fit is perfect for me. I have to note that this vest isn't as soft as the one above; however, even after hours of wear, I didn't feel any discomfort.

Corduroy High Waist Solid Pleated Wide Leg Trousers Curve & Plus

The running theme between everything I tried from Cider is comfort. These pants are soft and stretchy and feel like you’re wearing pyjamas — all while being office-appropriate. My day job requires me to move around quite a bit, and these pants make it so easy. My only complaint is the length: I could use another inch or two on the inseam. These cozy pants come in both beige and brown on top of the dark navy that I chose.

Corduroy Round Neckline Leopard Tie Front Jacket Vest Curve

I firmly believe that leopard print is always on trend, and this tie front vest is spot on. Thrown over a white tee or even a dress, this vest adds texture, pattern, and shape to any outfit. I went with a 1X in the vest based on the product description online and wished I had gone with a 0X as it runs quite large. Even though the fit is not quite right, the quality and structure feel fantastic. If you're trying to figure out what size will work best for you on Cider, pay attention to the amount of stretch and listen to what reviewers are saying.

Plus-size holiday wear is often hard to come by, but this year, I’m ready to dazzle at every festive party I’m invited to. This is the type of dress I dream about: It's comfortable, suits my body shape, and emulates that 90’s aesthetic I’m always trying to recreate. The adjustable ribbon straps and stretchy velvet material make this midi dress great for anyone whose body fluctuates or who isn’t quite sure what size to get. I grabbed this dress in a 1X and I found it true to size as someone who typically wears a 16-18.
