A two-story penthouse perched atop the tallest building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side has hit the market, and it’s asking a sky-high $65 million.

Within the lofty, 850-foot-tall Sutton Tower at 430 East 58th Street, the palatial Penthouse 80 comes with five bedrooms and six full bathrooms designed by New York City-based starchitect Thomas Juul-Hansen—also behind the Rosewood Residences Beverly Hills. Interestingly, the limestone-clad skyscraper marks a first for the award-winning Danish designer, and the development itself is a modern homage to the neighborhood’s opulent Gilded Age history.

The great room feels like it’s floating over the East River and the city skyline.

“The building is at this crossroads of the Upper East Side and Midtown—and it’s a rarity here in this location,” Elizabeth Unger, senior sales director of Sutton Tower, told The New York Post. “It gives the lifestyle of a luxury building, but in this enclave one block from the waterfront. It’s the first of its kind and the last of its kind.”

The duplex apartment measures roughly 9,200 square feet with five bedrooms and six bathrooms. It also comes with a dramatic double-height outdoor loggia with sweeping, 360-degree views that stretch from the Atlantic Ocean to Central Park, the Hudson River, the Empire State Building, and beyond. With direct elevator access to the home, you’re welcomed into the great room, which is lined with massive windows and sports a gas fireplace and ceilings that soar upwards of 15 feet. On this side of the residence, you’ll also find a wine room that can hold about 700 bottles of your favorite vintages.

At the center of the kitchen is a Statuarietto marble waterfall island.

If you venture to the opposite end of the aerie, there’s a sleek, eat-in chef’s kitchen equipped with a Statuarietto marble waterfall island at the center, custom matte lacquer white cabinets, and top-of-the-line appliances from Sub-Zero and Wolf. This wing also holds a formal dining room, a butler’s pantry, and a guest bedroom with an ensuite bath. A staircase leads to the second floor, which comprises the other four bedrooms, with the pièce de résistance being the spacious primary suite that offers tons of closet space and an ensuite bath wrapped in Bianco Dolomiti marble.

Residents of Sutton Tower will have access to five floors of amenities, including a state-of-the-art fitness center, a lap pool, a terrace, and a game room, to name a few. And, come summertime, the building has partnered with Blade for private helicopter flights to the Hamptons.
