I take this $15 cooling towel everywhere I go. If you easily overheat, it's a godsend

I own several of these cooling towels from Amazon — here's why.

The sweltering temperatures of summer are the bane of my existence. I tend to overheat very quickly, which makes enjoying the hot days near impossible. Thankfully, I own the BOGI Cooling Towel from Amazon Canada and it has made a world of difference.

The handy little item is an Amazon's Choice product, with more than 300 people having bought it in the last month, and I can see why. To find out more details about the cooling towel and see if it's worth your hard-earned cash, keep scrolling.

This cooling towel has a 4.3 rating on Amazon and more than 4,000 ratings.

Pros
  • Instantly cools me down
  • Extremely easy to use
  • Easy to carry in my bag
Cons
  • A bit pricey
From $15 at Amazon

The cooling towel comes in a little plastic bottle with a handy clip. To use it, you pour water into the bottle, take the towel out, wring it, and snap it a few times which somehow makes it immediately very chilly.

It comes in a medium and large size. I own the medium and it's large enough to wrap around my neck as a scarf and to use as a shawl over my shoulders. The towel itself is made of cool bamboo fibre and the plastic bottle is recyclable.

As I mentioned, I overheat very easily and this towel is a game-changer. It genuinely gets chilly immediately and stays cool for about two hours.

When the towel does start to warm up, all you need to do is wet it again, wring it out and snap it a few times and it instantly cools back down.

I really like that it comes with a plastic bottle. It makes saturating the towel easy, and it also does double duty at keeping it clean from all the debris floating around in my purse. I also like the clip aspect — it's easy to attach it to my backpack when we're out and about, which gives me easy access to it when I do start to get too warm.

The product description says it stays cool for three hours, but on really hot days, I find it only offers relief for one to two hours. That being said, it's easy enough to wet it and cool it down again, so I find this to be somewhat of a nonissue. However, if you have limited access to water (if you're hiking, for instance) that could be a factor to consider.

I also think the price point is a bit high for what's essentially a cloth and a plastic bottle, but the product itself is so useful I've bought it multiple times.

🏆 "Makes a big difference"

One shopper said that this towel "makes a big difference" when they're doing work outside, and another wrote it's a "must-have."

Another says that the effect of the towel is "instantly cooling," while others say it's "very useful" and that "they work."

I love the BOGI Cooling Towel so much that I've purchased several of them (Photo via Sarah Rohoman).

However, like me, one person does find them to be "a little overpriced" and others say they have issues with the bottle leaking, but that's not a problem I've personally experienced.

I can't live without the BOGI Cooling Towels in the summer and they genuinely make me enjoy my time at the cottage and park so much more due to the fact that I'm not sweltering.

I think the towels are a little pricey, but they work so well that I don't mind the cost given how much better they make my life.
