Here's How Karma Will Shake Up Your Life When Saturn Turns Direct
"The heaviness and tough love that Saturn will bring as it moves forward will be far more noticeable," says PEOPLE's resident astrologer Kyle Thomas
Karma awaits... are you ready for it?
On Nov. 14, Saturn — the planet of karma and life lessons — will "awaken from its slumber" and snap out of its retrograde phase, moving forward once again at 12 degrees Pisces and slowly regaining speed in the months ahead.
According to PEOPLE's resident astrologer Kyle Thomas, whenever a major planet changes direction — either beginning or ending a retrograde — the effects of the celestial body are "especially noticeable" in the weeks surrounding it.
Since Saturn retrograde began on June 29, Thomas says it's likely we've found that situations have "slowed down" or "fell off the tracks" as a result. Furthermore, he says that Saturn retrograde is a period of deep focus on "karma and lessons" we are experiencing at that time.
Ironically, due to a retrograde's often-viewed negative connotation, Thomas says Saturn retrogrades in particular can be "easier" than when the planet is "direct" because we feel "less of its weight and challenges" in comparison.

"The heaviness and tough love that Saturn will bring as it moves forward will be far more noticeable and we will have to persevere until the planet turns retrograde once again on July 12 next year," Thomas explains. He notes that it will remain in Pisces, though, until May 2025.
As Saturn picks up speed, Thomas says that "important learning curves and karmic transitions" will affect all areas ruled by Pisces: spirituality, creativity, psychology, mental health, the unconscious and healing. "This will be a crucial time to release what's holding us back," he puts forth.
Saturn is also known as a "malefic planet," which Thomas says can bring forth "great achievements, legacies and structures" to our lives. It also "feels at home" in the 12th House (ruled by Pisces), which emphasizes the themes that align with the zodiac sign.
Here's how your zodiac sign will be affected.
Aries (March 21 to April 19)
Saturn has been inhabiting your sector of karma, Aries. During this time, Thomas predicts you will face "all the decisions" you've built up in your life to date.
"Positive karma could now be paid off, but dark actions — especially in the form of hidden enemies and anxieties — could be here to haunt you," he puts forth. "You may also be reflective and focused on understanding your soul, your past and your spiritual strength in the next three years."
Luckily, Thomas says you could be in a major period of completion and feel "validated and grateful" for what you’ve built. "You may also feel more at peace with endings, letting go and releasing what isn’t serving you, which could cause you to feel lighter as you prepare for a new cycle of beginnings."
Taurus (April 20 to May 20)
Saturn has been bringing learning curves to your long-term goals and dreams, Taurus. "You’ll feel more focused and practical," says Thomas.
"You will refine your list of plans and let go of the ones that are fleeting or that no longer fulfill you," he explains. "Your social circle may also begin to narrow, as you value true friends rather than a wide network."
As for your goals, Thomas predicts a feeling of "gratefulness" for achieving at least "one significant' personal milestone. However, life could also feel a bit more "serious" as you face the "practicality of life" at the same time.

Gemini (May 21 to June 20)
Saturn has been placing a heavy load on your professional life, Gemini. Thomas says you could experience a "very challenging period" in an attempt to achieve your greatest ambitions.
"You may also feel like you’re spinning your wheels constantly with a never-ending amount of work to reach new pinnacles," he adds — though notes by the end of it, you may find you've "finally established yourself" more than ever before.
At this time, Thomas says you could also feel "down" about your ambitions if you're not feeling "fulfilled" by them — meanwhile, you could also be "reveling in the success" of what you have built if you're on the right track.
"This may help you to really do some deep insight on what your legacy and career should be," he adds, though says "you could also feel a lot of pressure to get it right and be known for what you bring to the world."
Cancer (June 21 to July 22)
Saturn will forge into your expansion zone, Cancer, which could bring heavy weight to a few areas of your life. "Academics, media endeavors, international travel or even legalities," according to Thomas, are among the themes that could be affected — so "buckle up!" he insists.
You may also find yourself "honing in on the nitty-gritty" to understand how you can build your personal and professional growth for the long term, says Thomas. While you might find it "easy," he says you'll feel a "deep need to forge ahead in newfound ways" and "pivot" to get there.
Leo (July 23 to Aug. 22)
Saturn will bring tough lessons to you, Leo, around the following themes: trust issues, intimacy, sexuality, wealth and investments. "You will crave to build more," says Thomas.
Unfortunately, however, he says you will "have to fight wisely" to get what you want. "Know that this is a long-term trend and you aren’t being punished," he explains, noting that it's rather to "streamline your life" instead.
While you feel a "deep need to merge with others," Thomas says you may also experience "vulnerability" at the same time. If you do the inner work, though, he assures you'll be able to "surpass" these boundaries and "understand" your own worth.
Virgo (Aug. 23 to Sept. 22)
Saturn has been peering across the sky from you, Virgo, as Thomas notes you're in "one of the most challenging" periods of your life. This is because of Saturn's opposition, he explains.
"You will feel as if you are under a heavy cloud and must use incredible strength to get your way," Thomas continues. "This will also destroy any weak relationships that are not meant for you, either personally or professionally."
It's not because the relationships are "bad," just that you're "meant for someone else more! "Any commitments that you solidify or forge in this next era will likely stand the test of time and are karmic in nature," he says.
You may also feel a bit "alienated and isolated from the world" at this time, too, which Thomas says can "create loneliness" as a result. Standing alone may have a healing and hurting effect, but he notes "you will understand that true commitments take work and can be immensely fulfilling."

Libra (Sept. 23 to Oct. 22)
Saturn has been bringing its hard lessons to a new area of your life, Libra. Thomas says these sectors include "employment, work-life balance and physical health."
While you may feel like you're "drowning in responsibilities," he says it could also "push you to pursue a new form of employment or job." He adds, "It could also help you to make changes in your diet, fitness and medications."
The list of priorities and plans may seem endless, but Thomas says "being resourceful" can help you out. If you’re feeling strong and resilient, he says it "will aid you in the many years to come."
Scorpio (Oct. 23 to Nov. 21)
Saturn has been bringing his tough lessons to your sector of passion, Scorpio. Thomas says this could feel like "an uphill battle" against matters of the heart, romance, creativity, children or fertility.
This is not a form of punishment, but rather a way to "encourage" you to fight for what means the most to you. "It is up to you to find new ways to give and receive love as well as fill your life with more color and inspiration," he says.
Being "realistic and practical" about your desires is a top concern, says Thomas, but it might not be as "fun" as you had hoped. "Finding ways to enjoy life is crucial" and discovering ways to "build love that is mature and holds value" is important.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22 to Dec. 21)
Saturn has been in your domestic sphere, Sagittarius. Family and domestic life "could become an uphill battle" in the period ahead, says Thomas.
"You may also feel tested and emotionally frustrated within," he continues, though says the feelings are not meant to "punish" you. Rather, he says it's to "strip away what isn't needed and refine your path forward."
Thomas says you could also feel "down" emotionally, perhaps when it comes to "the past and nostalgia." However, by doing a deep personal assessment, he says "you release what is not serving you emotionally."

Capricorn (Dec. 22 to Jan. 19)
Saturn has been moving through your intellectual zone, Capricorn. "You could become quite focused on building out your communication-related skills or projects," Thomas puts forth.
While you’re eager to communicate, he says "it could feel like you don’t know how to articulate your ideas and messages because you’re being encouraged to learn how to connect on a deeper level." He adds, "You may also find an urge to learn and research more."
Aquarius (Jan. 20 to Feb. 18)
Saturn has been bringing life lessons around wealth, possessions and values, Aquarius. This can be tied to "self-worth and self-love" for the next three years, says Thomas.
Consider this "a phenomenal time" to assess your budget and begin to think long-term," he adds. "This will be a time to figure out who you are and what you value, which can aid you in finding great pride and strength in what you have built."
However, he adds, "It can also make you feel like you just don’t have enough to go around or to make ends meet, which could cause a little bit of dissatisfaction with life."
Pisces (Feb. 19 to March 20)
Saturn has been rolling through your zodiac sign, Pisces. "You could feel like you’re drowning under a heavy weight of insurmountable responsibilities," predicts Thomas.
"Weaknesses will be shown and outdated plans and relationships will fade, he continues, though says it's not to punish you! "It is to make you stronger as you forge new plans and patterns that will echo out for the coming three decades ahead."
Thomas says you could feel "lonely and isolated" at times, but it's only "encouraging you to face reality and practicality" in all areas of your life as you "build toward" your most important goals. "You could feel more confident in who you are."
