'Superhuman' Halsey hit the Grammys red carpet just days after endometriosis surgery

The 2022 Grammys kicked off with a bang on Sunday night, and Halsey was one of the biggest stars to hit the red carpet.

The "Bad At Love" singer looked radiant in a black and burgundy velvet strapless Pressiat gown, which was topped off by a dramatic coordinating hat.

However, the most surprising about the look was the fact that it came just days after the singer underwent endometriosis surgery.

Despite not winning a Grammy award for "Best Alternative Music Album," fans praised the star for their winning red carpet look.

"Halsey won the best red carpet look at the Grammys," tweeted one fan.

One Twitter user wrote that Halsey was "looking amazing as always," while another wrote that they looked like an "ethereal goddess."

Earlier this week, the 27-year-old revealed on Instagram that for the second time, they would walk the Grammys red carpet just days after surgery.

"The last time I attended the Grammys was 2017 and it was 3 days after I had my first endometriosis surgery. I walked the carpet with my stitches still in," they wrote.

"As luck would have it, I’m attending [the show] for the first time in years and I had surgery again (you guessed it) 3 days ago," Halsey continued. "Only posting this to say, if you see me be gentle lol I’m fragile. Fragile but excited."

Fans praised the star for their commitment, as well as for their dedication to raising awareness about endometriosis.

"Love you. Thank you for bringing so much awareness to this topic," commented one follower.

"I just had my second surgery and you are amazing," wrote another. "It’s the sh—est club to be in but not enough people talk about it so thank you for using your voice and also giving me hope."

"I couldn’t walk for nearly 3 weeks after my endo surgery. How did you do it? You’re superhuman," one fan wrote.

In 2016, Halsey tweeted about their "bittersweet" endometriosis diagnosis, and published an open letter to fans to share her support for others who may also be dealing with the condition.

"I know how excruciating painful it can be and how discouraging the disease can be," Halsey wrote at the time.

"I have found time to live a crazy, wild, rewarding life AND balance my treatment and I hope so much in my heart that you can too," they added.

According to The Endometriosis Network Canada, approximately 1 in 10 women, and unmeasured numbers of transgender and gender nonconforming people will develop endometriosis in their lifetime.

The condition frequently results in symptoms such as severe menstrual pain, chronic pelvic pain and infertility. There is neither a definitive cause nor a known cure for endometriosis, though symptoms are managed using a combination of medical and surgical care.
