Gwen Stefani serves 'Cher vibes' in unrecognizable new photos: 'Beautiful as always'
Gwen Stefani has a new look.
The 53-year-old singer took to Instagram on Wednesday with photos of herself rocking a new hairstyle. The blonde bombshell swapped her signature platinum locks for a jet black bi-level jellyfish haircut with full bangs, done by hairdresser Sami Knight.
For the portraits, fashion stylist Rob Zangardi gave the "Hollaback Girl" and "It's My Life" artist a green, black, white and red checkered dress, featuring glittering floral details on the shoulder.
Using Stefani's GXVE Beauty, Emmy-winning makeup artist Ernesto Casillas gave the singer a bright makeup look with pink blush and a nude pink lip. Celebrity nail artist Eri Ishizu dressed Stefani's nails up in black and white acrylics, featuring diamonds and lettering that read "Team Gwen."
Several fans showed their love for the "Rich Girl" and "The Sweet Escape" singer's new look, with many commenting that she looks like other well-known celebrities.
"Yes...we love the this edgy look!" shared YouTube star Kandee Johnson.
"Love this look!" one fan penned, along with a heart eyes emoji.
"That Cher look rocks," another added, beside a flame emoji.
"You look like Idina Menzel here!" someone chimed in.
"Stunning as always," someone else wrote.
Other fans weren't too happy with Stefani's choice to change her hair colour.
"I'm a die-hard fan and also love you, but [not gonna lie], I love the blonde hair, love," someone commented, along with a red heart emoji. "The black ages you!! Although you're aging like fine [wine]."
"Please go blonde again. The dark hair is harsh on your pretty face," someone else shared.
"Prefer your signature platinum colour," one person wrote.
Stefani showed off the new look on the latest episode of "The Voice," where she sits as a judge, alongside husband Blake Shelton, 46, as well as John Legend, 43, and Camila Cabello, 25.
But Stefani, who met Shelton in 2014 while filming season 7 of the reality TV singing competition and began dating the following year, had a hard time coming to terms with the show's 22nd season coming to a close.
"It's just been a really amazing season, too short," Stefani told Entertainment Tonight just before the show's semifinals, getting teary-eyed. "It's mine and Blake's last season... I can't even get the words out of my mouth 'cause it sucks.
"I never in my lifetime would've pictured me doing something like this, and it's been one of the most fun things I've ever done. I love being a coach, I love watching the contestants grow, I love having an impact, it's super inspiring for me. And then, on top of it, I meet my best friend here, that's gonna be forever mine."
