From the Paris Olympics to a 'Deadpool & Wolverine' afterparty: Vote on the best and worst-dressed celebrity this week
Bold-coloured outfits and dark black gowns were favourite styles for numerous A-list stars over the past several days.
The 2024 Paris Olympics, premiere parties for "Deadpool & Wolverine," Jennifer Lopez's "Bridgerton"-themed birthday bash — celebrities were out-and-about this week with fashion looks that'll make anyone look twice. While some stars brought bold reds and yellows for their events, other A-listers rocked all-black outfits at various red carpets.
Ahead of this year's Olympic Games, stars like Serena Williams, Cynthia Erivo and Sophia Bush — amongst many other celebrities — stepped out in Paris wearing bold outfits. At premieres for movies including "Deadpool & Wolverine" and "Harold and the Purple Crayon," colours were all the rage amongst celebrities like Blake Lively, Gigi Hadid and Zooey Deschanel. On the other hand, big-name stars like Anitta, Katy Perry and Emma Corrin also wore interesting pieces to red carpet and press events this week.
With so many worldwide events over the past week where stars had the chance to show off their top-knotch (or, sadly, lack of) sense of style, we want to hear from you, Yahoo Canada readers. Who do you think was the best-dressed celebrity this week? Which star would you consider the worst dressed? Cast your votes below, and read more about the outfits some of your favourite celebrities were recently seen wearing.
BEST DRESSED: Serena Williams
Serena Williams wore a striking ensemble for the Prelude to the 2024 Olympic Games on Thursday, rocking an all-black Louis Vuitton suit that added a perfect touch of drama. Styled by Kesha McLeod, the 42-year-old former professional tennis player served glamour with the three-piece look.
To accessorize, the athlete carried a blue and green trunk clutch from the fashion house. Her face stunned with a shining make-up look that sported a purple eyeshadow, and her signature blonde locks were curled to perfection for the night.
WORST DRESSED: Blake Lively
Blake Lively made another fashion mis-step on Monday at the afterparty of the New York "Deadpool & Wolverine" premiere. For the event, the 36-year-old actress wore a baby blue and bright red strapless mini dress, which was adorned with large red roses. It was a piece from Balmain's Spring/Summer 2024 ready-to-wear collection.
She paired the piece with matching red pump and a bright red lip. Her blonde hair was tied back in a high ponytail, and featured a red floral hair piece on one side.
BEST DRESSED: Anitta

— Anitta (@Anitta) July 25, 2024
Anitta looked like a sultry dream wearing a black lace gown from PatBO for the 2024 Premios Juventud Awards on Thursday in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The "Queen of Brazilian Pop" grabbed all the attention for the awards show with her bustier-style sleeveless dress.
Her brown hair was styled in effortless beachy waves, and her glamorous make-up look drew all the attention to her stunning face for the night.
WORST DRESSED: Emma Corrin
The day after Monday's New York premiere of "Deadpool & Wolverine," Emma Corrin was seen walking to an appearance on "Good Morning America" wearing a questionable outfit from Freddy Coomes and Matt Empringham. The custom silk taffeta dress mimicked a white polo T-shirt and red mini shorts, and it was all tied together with an oversized black ribbon on the neckline.
The outfit was paired with long white socks and black shiny shoes. The 28-year-old actress kept her outfit simple with a lack of accessories, and opted for a muted make-up look for the occasion.
BEST DRESSED: Gigi Hadid
Wearing a striking all-yellow outfit, Gigi Hadid looked vibrantly glamorous at the afterparty following the New York premiere of "Deadpool & Wolverine" on Monday. The 29-year-old model's PVC trench coat was from LaQuan Smith, which she paired with a Miu Miu mini handbag, heels and large gold hoop earrings.
WORST DRESSED: Zooey Deschanel
Zooey Deschanel might've been trying to channel the essence of a Crayon for her latest movie premiere in Culver City, Calif. on Sunday, but the look wasn't a match-made in heaven for the 44-year-old actress. She wore a sleeveless purple and blue dress featuring a floral jacquard pattern and two front-facing pockets.
To accessorize for the "Harold and the Purple Crayon" screening, Deschanel opted for purple tights and a pink Roger Vivier mini handbag. She also wore glimmering drop earrings and patent leather flats featuring a gold buckle and ribbon.
BEST DRESSED: Cynthia Erivo
Cynthia Erivo showed off her "Wicked" style at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics on Friday. The 37-year-old actress channelled her character, Elphaba, for the event, wearing an emerald green structured strapless gown and a matching wide-brimmed hat that made her appear the best she's ever looked. She accessorized with matching green heels, ultra-long matching nails and loads of gold jewelry.
WORST DRESSED: Katy Perry
Katy Perry doesn't seem to be having the best July. With comeback single "Woman's World" flopping on music charts, it's unfortunate the 39-year-old pop icon is landing on our worst-dressed list this week. The singer was seen leaving a London studio of BBC's "The One Show" on Thursday wearing a grey mock-neck T-shirt and a loosely-tied black lace skirt.
She paired the drab look with oversized black mini boots and dark brown sunglasses. The singer also let her hair flow naturally over her shoulders in a middle part.
BEST DRESSED: Jennifer Lopez
It's no secret that Jennifer Lopez knows how to turn out a good look, and that same sense of taste seems to also ring true for birthday parties. The pop star celebrated her 55th birthday on Wednesday with a "Bridgerton" theme, wearing a lavish ballgown that made it seem like she stepped right out of an episode of the Netflix series.
The light blue gown made the singer look perfectly regal. She let the dress do most of the talking, opting for sheer white opera gloves, stud earrings, a simple pendant necklace and a gold laurel headpiece for accessories.
WORST DRESSED: Sophia Bush
Sophia Bush attended the Prelude to the Olympic Games wearing a dress that easily overshadows her presence. The red mini Christian Siriano dress featured a poufy skirt and a bodice that featured a scooped neckline. The 42-year-old actress kept her accessories simple, opting only for open-toe heels and large silver earrings.
