'Canadian icons': Avril Lavigne, Nelly Furtado, Fefe Dobson & Drake hang out in Toronto
Between Lady Gaga's Chromatica Ball and Drake's OVO fest, which both took place in Toronto on Saturday, Aug. 6, fans had much to feast their eyes (and ears) on this weekend.
As a result, the city was buzzing with Canadian celebrities including Avril Lavigne, Drake, Nelly Furtado and Fefe Dobson, who found time out of their busy schedules to hang out in Ontario's capital.
On Sunday, Spoke Entertainment — a talent management company who represents many stars including Dobson — took to Instagram to post a fun snap of Lavigne, Furtado and Dobson hanging out at the Lady Gaga concert. The trio looked happy and relaxed as they smiled for the camera in what appeared to be a box at the event, complete with a framed picture of the Toronto Blue Jays.
"Queens!" the company captioned the photo alongside a crown emoji.
In the comments, fans were quick to show their support for the Canadian stars.
"This is my childhood in one photo," wrote a follower.
"Canadian icons," said another, while someone else shared: "This is epic."
"How many Canadian icons can you fit into one picture?" a fan asked.
In addition, Furtado posted a black and white photo of her, Lavigne and a Canadian flag emoji to her Instagram story where the female powerhouses looked to be enjoying Gaga's concert, which took place at the Rogers Centre.
Later that night, Drake, Nicki Minaj and Lil' Wayne finally had their highly anticipated Young Money show at the Budweiser Stage after it was previously cancelled due to Drake testing positive for COVID-19.
The 35-year-old rapper wasted no time sniffing out his Canadian counterparts, as he posted a cute photo to his Instagram story with one arm around Lavigne and the other around Dobson — a snap which Spoke Entertainment also shared with fans.
"Dreeeeaaamy," he wrote alongside a photo of the three musicians posing for the camera, while Spoke penned "icons only" as the caption to their post.
As if things weren't already the most Canadian, Lavigne and Dobson were also at the Shania Twain concert at Boots and Hearts music festival on Sunday.
Lavigne posted a video of the two songstresses singing and dancing backstage while the queen of country belted in the background.
It looks like some of Canada's finest musical talent had a pretty epic weekend.
