The latest A-lister to join the bob brigade is Selena Gomez, who did a swift hair switcheroo for the Academy Museum Gala. She went from longer waves to a short, sixties-inspired bob hairstyle with the flipped ends just gently floating above her shoulders.
Paired with steel grey smokey eyes and glossy lips (by make-up artist Hung Vanngo) and a floor-length Alaïa number with an hourglass silhouette, the whole look felt decidedly polished and clean.
While the vibe is clearly inspired by decades past, hairstylist Marissa Marino kept things feeling futuristic and fresh with a sleek side-parting and an almost-lacquered finish without a single hair out of place.
Marino, who's also a Fekkai haircare ambassador, used mainly Fekkai products to achieve the look. For those who wonder if Gomez really did chop her hair off, it looks likely, as the Only Murders In The Building star also sported the 'do at the BAFTA screening of her film Emilia Pérez, albeit with a fuller, softer style.
Bobs were clearly the style of choice on the Academy Museum Gala red carpet over the weekend, as actors Hannah Einbinder, Da'vine Joy Randolph, and Elizabeth Banks all brought a glamorous touch to the trending hairstyle. Even Chrissie Tiegen debuted her bob transformation with an Old Hollywood-inspired voluminous look.
