Avid Amazon shoppers know that the site is an absolute treasure trove when it comes to cleaning hacks. From top-rated "miracle" cleaning pastes to editor-approved affordable vacuums, it's a top destination if you're looking to refresh your cleaning routine.
When browsing online for a safe and easy way to clean fine jewelry at home, I recently came across one Amazon cleaning product that was highly recommended by shoppers. Ringing in at just $12, the Diamond Dazzle Stik is a top-rated cleaner that comes backed by thousands of positive reviews.
As someone who is recently engaged and looking for a way to keep my ring looking brand new, I knew I had to buy the Diamond Dazzle Stik and put it to the test.
Diamond Dazzle Stik
How does the Diamond Dazzle Stik work?
This cleaner is made using a special formula of micro-fine cleansers and polymers that's designed to be safe for use on diamonds. It's also safe to use on other precious and semi-precious gems, as well as platinum and gold settings.
The cleaning solution is housed in a portable and easy to use stick, which features soft bristles that are able to clean even the most delicate jewelry. To use it, you simply wet the Diamond Dazzle Stik's bristles, twist the end to release the cleaning agent, and brush it onto your jewelry. After a quick rinse and dry, your jewelry will once again be sparkling.
Why it's important to clean your jewelry
If you're someone who wears your jewelry daily, whether it's rings, earrings, necklaces or bracelets, over time your precious stones may begin to lose some of their sparkle. That's because body oils, lotions, hairspray and soaps can build up over time and make your jewelry appear dull.
Since fine jewelry is usually sentimental or expensive (or both!), you want to take care to use the correct cleaning methods. Jewellers often recommend gentle dish soap and a soft toothbrush, but depending on the setting of your pieces, those may not be enough to effectively clean the dirt out of every nook and cranny.
First impressions
Before cleaning any of my jewelry, I didn't have very high expectations for the Diamond Dazzle Stik. I'd used soap and water in the past, and wasn't sure it would provide much different results. However, after the first use I could see why it has earned more than 22,000 five-star reviews from shoppers.
The entire process took just a couple of minutes, and once dry my engagement ring looked like it did on the very first day I wore it. I was curious how the Diamond Dazzle stick would work on other jewelry, so I also put it to the test on a pair of stud earring that I wear almost daily.
While the change is subtle in pictures, I noticed a huge difference in the clarity and the quality of the diamonds after they had been cleaned using the Diamond Dazzle Stik. The buildup that caused them to appear dull and smudged had been washed away, leaving behind a brilliant, sparking finish.
What others are saying
The Diamond Dazzle Stik has earned a 4.4-star rating from nearly 29,000 Amazon customer reviews. It's earned top marks for being easy to use and offering great value for money, on top of making quick work of jewelry cleaning.
"Perfect for hard-to-clean settings," one reviewer shared. They added that its "stiff" bristles are able to "clean thoroughly behind stones," even with large or complex settings.
"Really makes the diamond sparkle like new!" raved another shopper.
The downside to this cleaning stick is that shoppers have noted that it can take "several clicks" when twisting the cap in order to activate the cleaning agent. I had this issue while using the Diamond Dazzle Stik as well, so you'll want to give it a few full rotations in order to get a thorough clean.
Final thoughts
After having used this simple cleaning hack a few times, I can safely say that it lives up to its hype. The Diamond Dazzle Stick really did bring back the shine and sparkle to my jewelry, and the only thing I'm unsure of at this time is how long I can expect one tube to last.
With regular cleanings I'll likely have to put in another order soon, but I also plan to keep the tube even once the solution runs out since its bristles will be a great way to amp up my regular soap and water cleanings.
