Costco Just Made a Major Change to the Food Court and Customers Are Deeply Divided

Costco shoppers looking to unwind at the warehouse's food court after a long day of shopping might be disappointed during their next visit. Several users have reported that Costco has started replacing food court tables with standing tables.

According to first person to post in this Reddit thread, the Costco in Visalia, California, got rid of several regular tables in the food court to make room for five standing tables.

Others chimed in online, saying that their local warehouses have also starting using standing tables in the food court. For many, they're not too pleased with the idea of having to eat their hot dog combo while standing.

"Maybe it's just me, but I like being able to relax my feet for a few minutes and eat a hot dog after spending an hour walking up and down aisles, avoiding jackasses with their carts," read one comment.

"Nope — immediate dislike of this development," another person added.

On the other hand, there are those who believe the new tables could cut down on customers who tend to take up a lot of space in the food court.

"I like it, people flop down and spread out way too much at the food court...This is for grabbing a bite on your way out, not a family gathering," said one user.

One person even embraced the standing tables as a sort of pit stop, writing "Ah the new Hotdog pitstop table… I’m there for like 3 minutes while I enjoy my hotdog and drink, before heading in to the wonderland."

Would you be okay with Costco replacing all the food court tables with standing tables?
