Cheryl Hickey shares inspirational message with fans: 'If you don't jump you won't know'
Chery Hickey is giving fans the "Monday motivation" they needed.
On Monday, the "ET Canada" host took to Instagram to share a photo of herself jumping off of a dock, wearing a neon yellow swimsuit. She paired the photo with an inspirational message encouraging her followers to figuratively "take the leap" more often.
"If you don’t jump you won’t know. One step. One move. Make one move today to try something different," she penned to her more than 90,000 followers. "Make that call, reach out to that person, imagine you can, what if it all works out, what if it works out better than you could have imagined! Send this to a friend who needs it."
Hickey's post was met with supportive messages from fans, along with praise for her motivation.
"This is so great! Well said. We all need to take the leap more in life. Fear only holds us back," one person commented, while another added, "Love this!"
"Love #KeepGoing," someone else wrote.
"Thank you for sharing!! I love your positivity," one person added.
Another commented: "Great attitude, Cheryl!"
Earlier this month, Hickey shared a selfie paired with another inspirational message about treating her failures as a "gift," urging her fans to do the same.
"I have failed many times," she wrote. "That’s what I used to call those things that happened that were not in my plans or dreams."
Hickey explained that facing rejection repeatedly made her feel as though she was failing.
"I had way more 'nos' and 'you're not it,' or 'you're not what we are looking for.' I have had big plans flop, and flop hard in front of everyone," she wrote, adding, "I really thought these failures meant that I failed."
It took the 46-year-old "so many years to understand" that her perceived failures "were such a gift" and that without them, she wouldn't be where she is today.
"I wouldn’t be here in this place," she explained. "So if you're licking your wounds because of a failure, try today to change how you feel about them. You are in control of that, how you feel. You get to choose how you feel about it and that is the ultimate win!"
