'ET Canada' host Cheryl Hickey says 'holiday season guilt' as a mom is 'still real'
The Canadian TV host is embracing her motherhood duties, even if she can't put her responsibilities aside.
Cheryl Hickey is getting real about being a mom during the holidays.
The 46-year-old shared an Instagram Reel on Wednesday of herself wearing a shining gold cut-out gown with long sleeves and a plunging neckline for a holiday party. The "ET Canada" host also wore gold open-toe ankle-strap heels and a ponytail draped over one shoulder as she posed in front of a Christmas tree.
"As a mom, when we step out, we want to be free," Hickey added as on-screen text for the first photo of herself at the party, while adding "put all our responsibilities aside" to the second snap.
The Owen Sound, Ont.-born TV host then included a shot of her daughter, Nyla Foley, looking back at the camera while wearing a red long-sleeve dress in front of another Christmas tree. "Then when you get home. Am I right? Where my moms at?" Hickey penned as the on-screen text for that snap.
"Holiday season guilt. Still real," she shared in her caption.
In the comments, several fans were stunned by Hickey's gorgeous Christmas party look.
"Gorgeous, Cheryl!!" commented Canadian TV personality Traci Melchor.
"I am not a mom, but you are gorgeous showing that dress who the boss is!!" one fan added.
"Whoa!! Mom is lighting up the room again, that's what! Hope you had the best time turning heads! Yowza," another raved.
"Gorgeous, and Nyla is too cute!" someone penned.
"Beautiful in gold!" someone else shared.
"Woah, you look great... and we got this!!!" one person wrote.
Hickey also opened up about the realities of motherhood earlier in December, where she shared a video with her more than 94,000 followers about how her daily life isn't entirely glamorous.
"Hey everybody, my name's Cheryl Hickey and some would say — some, not all, but some — would say that by day I'm a glamorous TV host. But by night it's not that at all," she said.
She then spoke openly about what parenting means to her.
"In fact I am a teacher because I love homework, I love the homework that comes home, it’s my favourite. I am a cook. I am a nurse. I am a therapist. I am a craft maker. I am a cleaner. I am a driver," Hickey revealed. "And currently, I'm a mother who's holding on by a very thin thread and I want to know who wants to join my club."
