Couples Who Almost Got Divorced, Spill The Tea On What Made You Change Your Mind

Halloween is long gone, which means the Christmas movies have arrived (and let me tell you, I can’t get enough).

For years, Hallmark and Lifetime have had the holiday movie market on lock with the perfect feel-good formula for the season: have someone working a demanding job in a big city, begrudgingly go home for the holidays only to find love or realize they want that old thing back.

But now that newer networks have joined the Christmas noir tradition, the story isn’t just about finding love, it’s about realizing you don’t want to leave it.

In other words, couples that were calling it quits decided to call on Cupid for a Hail Mary.

I watched a new Netflix movie the other day (produced by Hallmark no less), and the opening scenes included a woman spilling her heart to a man by telling him she wanted to take things to the next level and invite him home for Christmas.

His response: he was flattered, but decided that he wanted to find a way to make up with his soon-to-be ex-wife (whoops, he forgot to mention her, btw).

The woman was devastated, but he was thrilled about his decision to dust himself off and try again with the woman that made him say, “I do.”

I’ve now seen this new storyline play out in a few holiday flicks, and it’s got me thinking: what sways people into calling off their divorce before the ink dries? And since I don’t have the answers, I’m turning to you.
