Canadian influencer pens 'iconic and empowering' message for National Bikini Day
Sarah Nicole Landry is celebrating the swimsuit.
The Canadian influencer, also known as The Birds Papaya, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a series of body positive photos for National Bikini Day with her 2.2 million followers.
In the post, the Guelph, Ont.-based content creator posed in a variety of different bathing suits for the holiday, which took place on July 5.
In some of the snaps, Landry proudly displayed her natural and unedited body — stretch marks, cellulite and all — to encourage fans to accept their bodies and focus on being present.
In another photo, "The Papaya Podcast" host smiled at the camera while cradling one of her children by the pool in matching yellow and white polka-dot swimsuits.
"Happy National Bikini day to 12-year-old me that only knew board shorts and T-shirts while swimming. Update for her: We are doing just great. I’m glad she wore what she needed to then. And I’m glad I’m wearing what I want to now, too," she captioned the post.
The mother-of-four also used the hashtag "National Bikini Day," and wrote that she's "ready and waiting" for National One Piece Day, National Shorts and T-Shirt Day as well as National Wear What Works Day.
Landry's empowering pics were well-received by fans and fellow influencers, who praised her vulnerability and inspiring message.
Canadian TV host and self-love advocate Tracy Moore said: "Love them all!" along with a fire emoji.
"Icon alert! Love this message!" commented a follower. "I think we all have to wear what makes us comfortable — no matter what it looks like!"
"Iconic and empowering! I needed this today. I’m wearing the damn two-piece [swimsuit] this summer because I'm not letting negativity or low self-esteem win," shared another.
Canadian influencer and content creator Sasha Exeter chimed in: "Yes, my kween!"
"I was a shorts and t-shirt girl, too. My first swim without them felt amazing!" a fan told Landry. "Thanks to you, I've learned to love myself and try to find confidence with my own natural body."
