Best wedding shapewear: 11 picks, including editor-approved Knix — plus Skims, Spanx, Amazon & more
Shop top shapewear for tummy control, thigh shaping and more.
Since wedding season is just around the corner, I've been prepping with some shapewear from Knix (ladies — if you know, you know). I had the opportunity to try them under some dresses this past month, thanks to a bridal shower and engagement party. I tested out a Thigh Saver and Leakproof High-Rise Shaper Brief for tummy control — and I reviewed them to give you the full lowdown if you're in the same boat as me. In addition to these pieces, I've rounded up nine other shapewear staples from Spanx, Skims, Amazon and more to help you feel your best this wedding season. Keep scrolling to check out my review and other body-shaping must-haves.

For me, this leakproof brief was very convenient, thanks to the built-in liner. None of my other shapewear pieces have this feature, and it comes in handy when you want fewer layers in that area. It definitely had a smoothing effect, but it didn't make a *major* difference in actually shaping my body — which is fine because it's a nice, breathable option. However, my complaint is that the top kept rolling down my back, which made it uncomfortable after a while.
- Has a smoothing effect
- Has a built-in, leakproof liner
- Isn't too tight
- The top rolls down my back
- Doesn't make a significant difference
I really enjoyed these thigh-shaping shorts for extra coverage under dresses and skirts. I felt way more secure knowing I wasn't going to accidentally flash someone with a gust of wind or one wrong move. I can also confirm it successfully prevents any chaffing, making any event more comfortable. The fabric is thin, and I was expecting they'd be a little thicker because they weren't as compressing as I'd hoped. They didn't hold me in the way I wanted them to, but that could very well be my fault for ordering the wrong size (pro tip: consider sizing down for these).
- Provides extra coverage under dresses
- Comfortable for all-day wear
- Stays in place
- Prevents any thigh chaffing
- Not compressing enough
- Thin fabric

Skims shoppers swear by this bodysuit — one said that it's "comfortable and breathable but still sucks you in." You can rock this as shapewear underneath an ensemble or on its own as a bodysuit (yes, there's enough coverage).
Totally understandable if Skims isn't in your shapewear budget — this Amazon bodysuit is supposedly a great dupe. "Perfect to wear under a dress or even on its own with some cute jeans," said one shopper.
This sculpting bodysuit has you covered from below your bust to your thighs — absolutely perfect for dresses of all lengths. The straps are a genius feature because it ensures the shapewear won't slide down your back and midsection.
If you're not wearing a dress but maybe a pantsuit or other ensemble, you might want something more low-key. According to one Amazon shopper, this shaping camisole has "great support and control."
If you don't want the whole shebang and prefer something more subtle yet still compressing, these sculpting undies have a shaping waistband that'll help smooth your lower belly area.
This slip dress is perfect for providing extra support, shaping and to prevent any see-through mishaps. The straps are adjustable too, so you can customize the fit to your comfort.
This bra is the solution to many dress woes — deep V-necks, open backs and strapless silhouettes. It's comfortable and supportive, and one customer said it's "the best fitting and supportive deep plunge bra I have tried."
If you're rocking a leg with a high slit but still want to keep things in check, this a-symmetrical shapewear will do the trick. This one is for left-leg exposure, and they have one for the right leg, too.
Similar to the OG Thigh Saver that I tried, this one is just a shorter version. This 4-inch one might work better for petite builds or people with shorter legs (or shorter dresses!).
