ASOS Didn't Photoshop Models' Stretch Marks — and People Are Loving It
When shopping for swimwear online, we’re usually faced with shots of young models with taut bodies, zero body hair, and no sign of any blemishes.
And although we know this is the work of Photoshop and not real life, it’s still disappointing to find the same idea of perfection being advertised over and over and over again.
But now the online clothing brand ASOS is subtly fighting back against all that.

Without making a big dal of it, the retailer has left in stretch marks on several women modeling swimwear.
Whether this was accidental or not, people are still praising the online retailer for promoting body positivity.
“So impressed with ASOS,” one Twitter user commented.
“I have this kind of stretch mark and I feel better about them seeing this,” another young girl added.

However, one woman did note that ASOS edited out any sign of blemishes on all of the plus-size models, commenting: “YASS ASOS editing out the stretch marks on your plus-size models because they’re not cute if they’re not on a size 8.”
Others were similarly quick to point out that showing stretch marks on a size 6 model was barely progress.
Still goes to show that stretch marks are so natural, even on a smaller frame. EVERYONE HAS THEM EVEN MODELS. I think its wonderful.

The truth of the matter is, it’s important to show natural “imperfections” (like stretch marks!) on models, no matter their size. Hopefully in the future, news like this won’t make headlines.
