Ariana Grande has shed light on the impact she hopes to make in the film, by choosing not to include her stage name in the film's end credits, but rather her real full name, which includes her father's surname.
The 'Thank U Next' and 'One Last Time' singer typically uses her mother Joan's surname (Grande) and forgoes her father Edward Butera's last name. However, the 31-year-old pop star will now add a double barrel and change her name to Grande-Butera for the film's credits.
While nothing has been confirmed, it is thought that the change was inspired by Grande reconnecting with her father Butera in recent years.
The star has previously spoken about her difficult relationship with her dad, however, it was reported that the pair got back in touch in 2018. Since then Grande has posted about her father on Instagram and shared a picture of the pair Facetiming each other over Christmas. Grande also walked the Grammys red carpet with both her mum and dad in 2019.
Given the sweet gesture, we're wondering if Grande will recreate the moment at one of the Wicked red carpet premieres or during award season.
