Smart shoppers know that there are certain times of the year to shop and other times to save, making Amazon Prime Day an event that many bargain hunters look forward to all year. While many have been eagerly anticipating this year's crop of deals, it looks like Canadians will still be waiting a little longer.
Amazon Prime Day 2021 is on now, running throughout the two day period between June 21 - June 22 in markets like the U.S. and U.K. However, on May 7, Amazon Canada announced that due to concern for the well-being and safety of employees in light of the current global pandemic, they would be pausing Prime Day in Canada.

Details about when and if a new date will be announced later this year are still scarce, but we've gathered all the details you need to know.
What is Amazon Prime Day?
Prime Day is Amazon’s biggest and best global shopping event with exclusive deals for Amazon Prime members. The event usually lasts two days, with flash sales and deals of the day to take advantage of for a limited time.
When is Amazon Prime Day 2021 in Canada?
While it normally takes place during the month of July, Prime Day this year has actually been paused in Canada due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
In the meantime, customers can continue to find and order the products that they need on Amazon.ca.

Prime Early Access Deals: Shop items on sale before Prime Day with these early discounts.
How do I access Amazon Prime Day sales in Canada?
Once Prime Day does roll back around, in order to score deals you'll have to be signed up for Amazon Prime. If you’re not already a member, you can enrol in a 30-day free trial that gives you all of the benefits of a Prime membership, like free two-day shipping, access to Prime Video original TV shows and movies, and free e-book and music downloads through Prime Music and Prime Reading.
Once the trial ends, you can sign up for an annual membership for $79, or a monthly membership at $7.99 per month. Discounted rates for students start at just $3.99 after an initial free six-month trial, so if you’re still in school you can save big.
