Alexandre Carrier Re-Signs With Nashville Predators on Multi-Year Deal

The Nashville Predators didn't do enough on Day 1 of free agency it seems as the team also came to terms with right-shot defenseman Alexandre Carrier on a three-year, $3.75 million AAV contract.

It was reported earlier that Carrier was close to re-signing with the Predators and after going out and signing Brady Skjei, it seemed less likely.

Carrier should be a top-4 defenseman for Nashville next season and moving forward as he proved his capabilities, especially in the first-round playoff series against the Vancouver Canucks. Carrier scored one goal and three points in those six games while logging over 21 minutes per game. He also had a career-high four goals and recorded 20 points through 73 regular season games.

Carrier has the ability to get on the scoresheet and the team may ask more out of him next season. After this signing, the Predators are now down to $595,000 in cap space. Don't expect any more adds, just the rest of the qualified RFAs to sign eventually.
