Alanis Morissette and family star in heartwarming Gap holiday campaign
The Canadian star revealed how her children changed her perspective on the holidays.
Alanis Morissette is teaming up with Gap for their holiday campaign.
Over the weekend, the Canadian singer-songwriter, 49, took to Instagram to share a glimpse of a recent photoshoot she starred in for the apparel brand, alongside her husband Mario "Souleye" Treadway and their three children.
The couple, who have been married since 2010, share daughter Onyx Solace and sons, Winter Mercy and Ever Imre.
In the photo, the family gathered closely in front of a clean white backdrop. Morissette donned a stylish long black coat, blue jeans, a white top and a cozy brown scarf. Her hair styled in waves and subtle makeup highlighted her "natural beauty."
"Holidays as a catalyst for communing. Loved doing this shoot with my family for Gap's 2023 holiday campaign," she penned in the caption.
In the comments, fans showered the Ottawa-born icon with praise for her "comeback" and applauded her for involving her family in this special collaboration with Gap.
"This is so cute. You're such a natural beauty! And it's so heartwarming that you involved your family in this. Love to see it," one Instagram user commented.
"What a beautiful family," another person chimed in.
"Absolutely love this and love you!" a fan wrote.
"Your comeback keeps getting better and better. I love this new era on you," someone added.
Gap's official Instagram account also shared footage of the shoot, including an Instagram reel. In the video, Morissette reflected on the holiday season and shared her personal connection to it. She explained how her perspective has transformed over the years, thanks to her children.
"There was a period of time where the holidays were sort of neutral for me. The holidays are now imbued with a sweet sentimentality for me now because of the kids," the "Ironic" singer said.
In August 2021, Morissette opened up about her mental health since having children.
Speaking with TODAY at the time, she revealed that her mental health had suffered following each of her three pregnancies.
"I had postpartum depression after each pregnancy, and with each kid, it got progressively worse," Morissette explained. "I'm happy to say that I'm finally on the other side of it," she continued. "But it just happened in the last three months."
The "Jagged Little Pill" singer said her mental health finally turned around once she started taking medication. However, she admitted that she had some difficulty with the stigma surrounding antidepressants.
"I had a lot of shame around being medicated," she revealed. "But it kept me alive and I have zero regrets. If it's needed, just do it."
