This “Too Cute” $17 Holiday Organizer at HomeGoods Keeps Selling Out (I’m Using It All Winter Long)

In my book, as much as I love Halloween and all things spooky, November 1 means it’s officially time to decorate for the holidays. This year, HomeGoods — my preferred stop for festive decor and organizers — named the date the first annual “Deck the Everything Day” to prove it’s never too early to decorate, and the holiday finds have been flying off the shelves ever since.

There’s one viral new festive gem in particular making the rounds of social media as shoppers everywhere try to get their hands on it. Doubling as both decor and storage, people can’t get enough of this adorable Peppermint & Pine $16.99 gingerbread cookie jar.

Adorned with a pink bow and buttons, the hand-painted smiling ceramic jar has a removable top so you can fill it with whatever you like: cookies, coffee pods, sauce packets, trinkets, dog treats, etc. Outside of the kitchen, you can stand her up in your bathroom or bedroom for toiletries, toilet paper rolls, tissues, matchbooks, craft supplies, or even your secret candy stash.

While HomeGoods offers a handful of different gingerbread cookie jars in-store — plus, stock differs from store to store — social media users have taken note of how hard this one is to find, also letting their followers know once it’s restocked (which seems to be quite frequently!). It’s so in-demand, in fact, that people are reselling the jar for as much as $62.99 and $69.99 on eBay. That’s four times the original price!

In case the bowed cookie jar is sold out at your local HomeGoods (or you don’t live near one), you can always shop on eBay, Poshmark, or Mercari if it’s that specific find you’re after. If you’ve got some flexibility, Walmart has an adorable 57-ounce version for under $10, while World Market has a hand-painted option with a red bowtie.

What Is “Deck the Everything Day”?

Beloved home decor (and basically everything else) store HomeGoods partnered with actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth to help shoppers rejoice in early holiday decorating (without shame!). She shared a few of her best holiday decorating tips that celebrate the season that’s “all about family and creating new memories while cherishing our traditions from the past.” Here are my favorite tips she shared that are perfect for holiday decorating in your kitchen:

1. “Bringing together old traditions with new memories.”

Chenoweth loves blending classic traditions with her “glam” style, and it’s a perfect opportunity to add something “vintage-inspired” to your decor. Opt for coquette ceramic serveware, or a metallic nutcracker or Christmas tree for your table spread for added flair.

2. “Create a stylish shelf.”

Another easy option for smaller spaces or more subtle holiday decor is to “elevate your shelving,” as Chenoweth puts it. Create dimension, add trinkets, and include texture with glass finds and tapered candlesticks for a simple addition to your home.
