Stephen A. Smith calls Dak Prescott a ‘front runner,’ after Cowboys loss to the 49ers

Following the Dallas Cowboys week 8 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, QB Dak Prescott was criticized on popular sports show ‘First Take.’

After the Dallas Cowboys’ loss to the San Francisco 49ers, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith didn’t mince words on ‘First Take’ when it came to his thoughts about starting quarterback Dak Prescott.

“Dak Prescott is an expert at getting his money, he ain’t an expert at winning when it really really counts,” said Smith, “ He’s a front runner when Dallas gets a lead when they’re in games he can get it done for you. When the ship is sinking, that brother doesn’t do anything but add weight.”

Smith admitted that the majority of the blame doesn’t belong to Prescott and said the team’s rushing offense and defense leave much to be desired while Jerry Jones’ team management was also at fault for the Cowboys’ 3-4 record.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe blamed Jerry Jones, saying the team owner needed to get more help for the team and that CeeDee Lamb was the only true weapon for Prescott.

Smith assigned Prescott and Jones each 33% of the blame for the Cowboys’ struggles this season.

The Cowboys will look to snap their two-game losing streak when they play the Atlanta Falcons at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday at Mercedes Benz Stadium.
