Manitoba Moose Sign Graham Sward

The Manitoba Moose have signed defenseman Graham Sward to a one-year deal, the team announced Thursday.

A product of Langley, B.C., Sward spent last season playing for the WHL's Wenatchee Wild, collecting 15 goals and 66 assists for 81 points in 66 regular season games. He also added six points in six playoff games.

Drafted by the Nashville Predators in the fifth round of the 2022 NHL Draft, Sward was traded to the Colorado Avalanche this past March in the deal that saw Yakov Trenin join the Avs as well. Sward did not sign with the team and became a free agent.

Over parts of six seasons in the WHL, Sward played for the Wild, Spokane Chiefs and Winnipeg Ice, putting up 180 points in 250 career regular season games.

Having impressed with the Winnipeg Jets at the Young Stars Classic and development camp, it seemed likely that Sward would find a spot in the organization.
