Kirk Cousins’ huge game wins Week 5, Josh Allen plummets, new No. 1 overall in Herald NFL QB rankings

ATLANTA’S KIRK COUSINS’ HISTORIC-LEVEL GAME WINS WEEK 5 AND THERE’S A NEW NO. 1 OVERALL IN UPDATED MIAMI HERALD NFL QUARTERBACK RANKINGS: Falcon Kirk Cousins scored a huge 65.45-point game last Thursday to win a high-scoring Week 5 in the Herald’s latest NFL QB Rankings -- and leap 14 spots from 21st overall to No. 7. Cousins’ week is the eighth-best of all-time in our rankings. The last better was 66.25 by Justin Herbert last season; the record game is 80.10 by Ben Roethlisberger in 2014. Buffalo’s Josh Allen plummets out of the top 20 after his 9-for-30 performance. And more news: Cincy’s Joe Burrow seizes the No. 1 overall season lead, ending a three-week run on top by Seahawk Geno Smith. Week 5 began the onset of bye weeks.
