With the Blue Jackets coming to TD Garden, the Bruins will have the opportunity to watch some of their players. It is no secret that the Bruins are looking to add to their roster, and the Blue Jackets have a fascinating bargain player in Kevin Labanc, who could be worth considering.
After posting just two goals and nine points in 46 games last season with the San Jose Sharks, Labanc has bounced back in a big way already this season with Columbus. In his first 13 games with Columbus, he has one goal and 10 points. With numbers like these, he is producing like he did during his best days in San Jose.
What's encouraging about Labanc is that he is not showing any signs of slowing down, either. He has four assists over his last three games.
If the Bruins added Labanc, they would gain a solid depth forward capable of producing secondary offensive production. While he would not be the big piece the Bruins would still hope to land, he would be a very solid bargain player if he continues to play this well. His $775,000 cap hit is also incredibly appealing. Thus, he could be a decent player to take a flier on.
