Yahoo Movies Christian Bale's iconic horror movie to get a reboot
American Psycho, the 1991 novel by Bret Easton Ellis, is getting a new movie adaptation.
The 1980s-set horror follows an investment banker working on Wall Street who is secretly a serial killer. Famous for both its violence and its satirical take on Yuppie culture, it was previously adapted in the year 2000, with Christian Bale playing the lead role of Patrick Bateman.
Now, Deadline is reporting that studio Lionsgate is pursuing a new film version of the book, and Luca Guadagnino is in final negotiations to helm the project.

Guadagnino is no stranger to films with homoerotic undertones, having previously directed this year's horny tennis hit, Challengers. He's also directed more explicitly gay material in Call Me By Your Name and the upcoming Queer.
The latter film stars James Bond and Knives Out's Daniel Craig as an expat who tries to dull his pain through casual sex and drugs, and ends up becoming obsessed with a younger man.
Ahead of its release, critics got to see the film at the Venice Film Festival and review it. From the reviews posted so far, both the performances of leads Craig and Drew Starkey have been described as outstanding, while the plot's third act detour into the jungle has been quite divisive.

Craig recently explained how he came to be involved in Queer, recalling: "We [Guadagnino and I] met 20 years ago and said, 'Hey, we want to work together,' and we finally did.
"If I wasn't in this movie and I saw this movie, I'd want to be in it. It's the kind of film I want to see [and] make – I want it to be out there."
