Burlington’s new Fairview Heights store opens this week with ceremony, giveaways

Burlington Stores, Inc., announced Monday that it will celebrate the grand opening of its new Fairview Heights location Friday, Oct. 18.

The new store at 6611 N. Illinois St. is a relocation of the store at One Plaza Drive, which opened in Fairview Heights in August 1986.

Grand opening festivities begin at 8:45 a.m. Friday with a donation presentation of $5,000 to the teachers at William Holliday Elementary School, according to an email from a spokesperson to the BND.

The celebration will continue throughout the weekend, according to a press release included in the email.

On Friday and Saturday, Oct. 18 and 19, the first 100 customers ages 18 and up will receive a $10 bonus card to use toward their purchases. On Sunday, Oct. 20, customers will receive free Burlington umbrellas (while supplies last).

The new Fairview Heights store brings the number of Illinois stores to 45 and gives customers access to “wow” deals, according to the release.

“Our goal is to continue to offer area residents low prices on brand name merchandise for the entire family and home,” Michael O’Sullivan, CEO, Burlington Stores, stated in the release.

“We’re continuing to expand our footprint across the country and are excited to be opening a new store in Fairview Heights…. We look forward to giving local customers the chance to discover big savings on a wide range of products.”

The BND reported in January that Burlington, as well as Golf Galaxy, would move from their locations on Plaza Drive in the Marketplace Shopping Center to the former site of Bed Bath & Beyond, which closed in January 2023.

DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse was downsized by about 10% to accommodate the addition of the two relocated stores. An additional facade was built between Burlington and Ulta Beauty to accommodate Golf Galaxy.
