As part of the change, BBC Studios will recruit for a new EVP, Global Content Sales based in London and reporting to Brown. This role will serve as a key global partner for the BBC Studios’ production team and invested production labels, which includes the likes of Baby Reindeer producer Clerkenwell Films and Steve Coogan’s Baby Cow.

Brown joined BBC Studios in 2022 and has been leading on sales in North America and Latin America. She will continue reporting to Rebecca Glashow, CEO of BBC Global Media & Streaming.

“Janet’s leadership in this global role will allow us to continue delivering the best of BBC Studios to our global partners,” said Glashow. “Janet brings a unique breadth of experience in creative dealmaking and managing content distribution across multiple regions, making her well-suited to lead our new Global Content Sales function.”

BBC Studios has made a number of changes over the past year or so including launching a new global entertainment arm led by Matt Forde along with a creative unit within that arm helmed by Karl Warner, while in the UK it merged entertainment & music and factual entertainment & events under Suzy Lamb. In the U.S., BBCS LA Productions boss Valerie Bruce exited amid a restructure.

BBC Studios sells the likes of Doctor Who, Bluey and Death in Paradise and has a number of hubs worldwide.
