A Walmart truck driver has gone 3 million miles on the job without a single accident or “blemish” on his record. That’s pretty amazing considering most people don’t drive nearly as far and they have at least one speeding ticket, if not at least a minor fender bender.

As reported by KCEN, Walmart rolled out the red carpet for Al Pringle, literally. His coworkers and even Texas DPS officers were on hand for the celebration and it’s easy to see why. What the man has accomplished is nothing short of amazing and admirable.
Walmart even “bought” a star in the sky for the employee, naming it after Pringle. That’s a creative way to honor his legacy.
When interviewed, Pringle admitted he’s had his fair share of close calls on the road, especially in inclement weather. However, his attitude is he’s in control of the 18-wheeler and it’s not going anywhere he doesn’t want it as a result.
We wish more drivers were to have that attitude today. Even commercial drivers have caused serious, sometimes fatal accidents, because they failed to pay attention to the road. It’s obvious Pringle has a low opinion of watching Netflix or doing anything else which would take away a driver’s attentiveness, and who can blame the guy?
After all, when you’re driving a truck that weighs 40 tons, give or take, you have the ability to kill and maim on a massive scale by being careless while behind the wheel.
Pringle has been driving for Walmart for almost 25 years and has been a trucker for about 39 years, so he’s put in his time to get where his is today. It doesn’t hurt that the man has a passion for what he does, instead of just trying to run out the clock to retirement.
