The 2024 Ford F-150 Tremor stands as the middle ground between the basic FX4 Off-Road package and the hardcore Raptor. With new tech in tow, we headed into the mountains for a good old-fashioned rocky shakedown.
The F-150 Tremor is all about the off-road experience, albeit without the absolute nuttery of the Raptor and Raptor R.
The Tremor is a higher trim of F-150, and it includes a standard 5.0-liter V-8 making 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque.
If you prefer torque over displacement, the Tremor can be optioned with an EcoBoost twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 producing 400 hp and 500 pound-feet.
That puts the V-8 Tremor 0.7 second behind the twin-turbo V-6 Tremor we last tested.
The story remains the same at the quarter-mile mark, where the V-8 Tremor's 14.6-second sprint lagged behind the V-6 Tremor by 0.7 second.
Most of the obvious changes for 2024 are found inside the cabin.
The 12.0-inch digital gauge cluster and 12.0-inch central touchscreen used to be optional, but now they're standard.
The F-150 can also now be equipped with a head-up display, which includes unique displays for Off-Road mode and BlueCruise.
The Tremor's General Grabber all-terrain tires might work well in the dirt, but they don't perform at the skidpad, where we recorded a paltry 0.71 g of grip.
Braking suffers, too, with the V-8 Tremor needing a lazy 223 feet to stop from 70 mph
